Malawi, a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, with an area of 118,484 km² and a population of 19,610,000. It is bordered by Tanzania to the north, Mozambique to the east and south, and Zambia to the west.
The beginning of the Lord’s Recovery in Malawi can be traced back to 1995 when a brother obtained Watchman Nee’s book and developed a deep appreciation for the ministry. In 2004, brothers from England visited the saints in Malawi and introduced a radio broadcast to spread the truth throughout the country. Additionally, they assisted in organizing a conference in 2017, which attracted 60 attendees.
In 2017, a couple migrated from Asia to Malawi for business. They attempted to connect with the local saints, but church life was not yet established at that time. When the Distance Perfecting Training (DPT) was conducted in Malawi in 2020 for returning African students, this family became connected and assisted around 20 brothers and sisters in participating in the weekly DPT program.
Coordination in the Body
In 2022, within the fellowship of the Body, saints from Asia visited the returned students and businessmen who had come from Asia. In collaboration with brothers from South Africa, the serving ones initiated monthly perfecting training. The brothers in Malawi were perfected in truth, life, and the practices of the church life. The first Lord’s table meeting in Malawi took place on May 1st, with 35 saints from 9 cities participating.
In April 2023, trainees from FTT Taipei actively participated in gospel preaching, resulting in the incorporation of many new ones into the church life.
The Lord's work in Malawi has experienced a significant intensification, leading to the establishment of various initiatives:
Contacts from Israel
Since 2021, Israel has been hosting 2000 African students annually. From Malawi alone, 200 students are sent each year, significantly contributing to the larger influx of African students in Israel. The saints in Israel have seized this golden opportunity to connect with these African students. As a result, a considerable number have been brought to the Lord's recovery. Out of 200 initial contacts, 96 received a Recovery Version Bible, and 30 of them returned to Malawi in 2022. Upon their return, they were able to establish contact and build connections with the saints in Malawi.
